Arnaiz presents the leading urban development in northern Madrid at MIPIM

March 17, 2026. Arnaiz, a leading firm in global urban planning and real estate development, participated—acting as manager of the Valgrande Compensation Board—at the international trade fair MIPIM (Marché International des Professionnels de l’Immobilier), the world’s leading real estate event, held last week in Cannes (France). At this event, the firm presented the Valgrande project—the main urban development currently planned in northern Madrid—to investors, developers, public authorities, and companies from around the world.

The project presentation was led by Silvia Rodríguez, Head of Legal at Arnaiz and Secretary of the Compensation Board, who outlined the project’s main features and the progress achieved to date. She also detailed key milestones, including the final approval of the partial plan, drafted by Arnaiz’s technical and legal team and approved by the Municipal Plenary of Alcobendas in November 2025.

Valgrande includes the construction of 8,600 homes, 54% of which will be public or subsidized housing, and is based on an urban model that prioritizes quality of life, energy efficiency, and integration with the natural environment. The project will feature extensive green areas and a gradual transition between the urban fabric and the Valdelatas forest, generating 4,000 jobs during construction and approximately 1,200 permanent jobs once completed.

The development adopts a sustainability-driven approach, allocating 27% of its total area to green spaces and incorporating more than 6,700 trees. It is also designed as a Smart District, supported by advanced technologies for resource management and efficient mobility.

The presentation of Valgrande at MIPIM received institutional support from the Community of Madrid, represented by the Regional Ministers for Housing, Transport and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, and for Environment, Agriculture and Interior, Carlos Novillo, as well as from the Alcobendas City Council, represented by Mayor Rocío García and the Councillor for Urban Planning, Environment, Housing and Public Works, Jesús Montero.

Arnaiz’s presence at MIPIM 2026, as manager of the Valgrande Compensation Board, reinforces its commitment to the development of new urban environments and to promoting projects that contribute to more sustainable, innovative, and future-ready cities.
