Arnaiz presents the urban development of Valgrande in The District along with the Community of Madrid

September 27th, 2024 – Arnaiz, a leading firm in urban planning and global real estate development, which manages the Valgrande Compensation Board, participated this year in The District, the international real estate event that brings together professionals from the real estate sector in Barcelona on September 25th, 26th and 27th.

The CEO of Arnaiz and deputy manager of the Valgrande Compensation Board, Luis Arnaiz, participated in a round table discussion moderated by Ramón Cubián, General Director of Territory Development of the Community of Madrid, under the title ‘Madrid Land Developments’ on new urban developments in Madrid, together with Miguel Hernández, director of Strategy of CREA Madrid Nuevo Norte; and Luis Roca, president of the Valdecarros Compensation Board.

During his speech, he highlighted the excellent location and opportunity for the Region of the Community of Madrid as Alcobendas is the second municipality in Spain with the second highest turnover generated by its companies. He also highlighted the three pillars of Valgrande: sustainability, housing and the environment, with special emphasis on the aspects of Smart City and the reduction of the carbon footprint with the aim of achieving the highest levels of energy efficiency, mobility and ecological management of its resources. Among others, it will have pneumatic waste collection and a district heating system. The Valgrande project proposes an urban development model that responds to current real estate demands, prioritising environmental protection, with an investment of close to 2,300 million euros.

Valgrande envisages the construction of 8,600 new buildings – 55% of which will be public housing. In order to ensure sustainable development and environmental cohesion, the buildings will be progressively lower in height, creating a gradual transition between the city and Monte de Valdelatas. In addition, it incorporates almost 600,000m2 of green areas, including the protection of the Monte de Valdelatas, which will be extended with a strip of more than 200,000 m², and the creation of the central park of the Valdelacasa stream of another 200,000 m².

The participation of Arnaiz as managers of the Compensation Board of Valgrande in The District, an event that each year brings together more than 12,000 professional attendees in Barcelona, reflects their commitment to publicise the fundamental keys to the project and its contribution to the development of the Madrid Region.
