June 7th, 2024. Arnaiz, a leading firm in urban planning and global real estate development, is participating as technical and urban planning advisor in the construction project of the new general university hospital of the Hospiten Group in Madrid developed by BWRE. The new hospital, located in Boadilla del Monte, will involve a total investment of 200 million euros and the creation of more than 350 direct and indirect jobs during the execution of the works, which are scheduled to start in spring 2024.
‘At Arnaiz we are very happy to be able to collaborate with BWRE and Hospiten in the development of a project of such importance for society as the construction of a new hospital’, explained Luis Arnaiz, CEO of Arnaiz. ‘Through Arnaiz Arquitectos, we have worked with BWRE and the hospital group on the technical and urban planning advice for the project, our work being important for the preparation and approval of the project designed together with the team of Enero Arquitectura, as well as for the processing of licences and authorisations,’ he stated.
This will be the first hospital in Madrid to be operated by the group under the Hospiten brand, and its second if we take into consideration the MD Anderson Cancer Centre, also owned by the group. In total, the Hospiten Group has twenty medical-hospital centres, consolidated over 50 years of experience, in countries such as Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Panama.
The new hospital will have 60 medical specialities, 150 rooms, and will generate around 800 jobs between healthcare and non-healthcare staff. The facilities include differentiated accesses for patients attending the Emergency Room, Hospitalisation and Outpatient Services, as well as 20 boxes in the Intensive Care Unit, 30 in the Emergency Room and 11 for the Day Care Hospital. In addition, it will have fifty-six outpatient clinics for individual use and will be equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging technology.
Construction will begin in the spring of 2024 and will take an estimated 24 months. The future hospital is expected to open in the second half of 2026.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, the future hospital will be certified to meet the highest energy efficiency requirements, ensuring the reduction of its ecological footprint.
